Equestrian “Practice Venue Series”

Information
The Diamond Willow Stables NEW Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” gives riders and horses of ALL levels the opportunity to school away from home in a simulated show environment without the high cost of showing. All riders, trainers and owners must beAEF members and all horses must be up to date on their shots. Trainers wanting to school their clients/horses during their “Practice Venue Series” division should provide DWS with a copy of their current trainers insurance policy.

Directions:
Diamond Willow Stables is located between Cochrane and the Trans Canada Highway off of Highway 22 on the West Side of the road. C/S Street is Township Road 252. Look for Diamond Willow Stables sign at that intersection.

Insurance:
For insurance purposes, ALL competitors must be fully paid and current AEF members. The participant agrees to not mount up/enter the show ring or warm up ring or allow the horse on the property without valid insurance in place. The competitor, trainer, owner or entrant agrees to not hold DiamondWillow Stables and/or the Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” Committee or Organization, and all related parties harmless against any and all claims, actions and costs as a
result of any such event, and actions or injury, damage, or events as a result of such animal.

Liability:
All owners, competitors and trainers are personally responsible for damages to third persons caused by themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. Neither DiamondWillow Stables, the organizing committee, sponsors, volunteers nor contractors shall be in any way liable for any accident, injury, death, damage, loss or for any other matter that may happen, from any causes or circumstances whatsoever to competitors, exhibitors, or members of their family or their agents, or to any one on DiamondWillow Stables and the DiamondWillow Stables Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” or to any animal or article exhibited or to any property brought on to the Diamond Willow Stables property and the DiamondWillow Stables Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” grounds, or for any other loss, claim, matter, circumstance or event whatsoever in connection with or arising out of or attributable to the Diamond Willow Stables Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” organization or any journey to and from the Diamond Willow Stables Equestrian “Practice Venue Series”.

Management:
The management reserves the right to cancel or combine any given class that does not fill to their satisfaction. No notification will be given to combined classes. The Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” is open to all; however The DiamondWillow Stables Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” committee and management reserve the right to refuse any entry. Management reserves the right to make changes of arenas, judges or class order to facilitate time schedule and condition, and the right to start the first class of any section 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time if entries warrant.

Entry Procedure:
1. All entries must be accompanied with payment in full via cheque made out to Diamond Willow Stables (cheques to be dated 2 weeks prior to Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” dates/division chosen to attend).
2. All entries received after the closing date will be charged a $25 late fee.
3. Numbers will not be issued without a cleared bank cheque or cash to cover balance of entries.
4. NSF cheques will result in an additional $35 service fee. Post dated cheques will be considered as a post entry.
5. Ajunior rider is a rider under the age of 18 as of January 1st , 2009. Juniors date of birth must be given on the entry form.

Refunds:
If for one reason or another participants and/or their horses are not able to participate they will receive credit towards a future DiamondWillow Stables “Practice Venue Series” of their choice.

Schooling:
Schooling prior to start time of Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” will be available over a limited number of fences for one hour up until ½ hour prior to the start of the first class.

Arrival:
Horses may not arrive prior to 7:30 am the morning of the Equestrian “Practice Venue Series”.

Stabling:
Limited stalls will be available upon request inside the main barn. Contact Cheryl at 403-585-5811.

Protective Headgear:
All riders must wear proper fitting, approved protective headgear, with safety harness correctly secured, at all times while mounted on Diamond Willow Stables Property. All competitors must wear STM or BSI approved helmets of conservative color with safety harness correctly fastened at all times while mounted on Diamond Willow Stables property.

Memberships:
For insurance purposes, all riders and owners must be a member in good standing with the Alberta Equestrian Federation. Numbers will not be issued to anyone not in good standing. Trainers should have current and valid insurance policies.

Dogs:
All dogs must be on a leash at all times, dogs caught off leash will be charged $50 penalty at the Show Office.

Prizes:
Each class will receive Clear Round ribbons.

Classes:
Regardless of which height the participant chooses to practice at, participants’ trainer, or a Diamond Willow Stables Equestrian “Practice Venue Series” in-house trainer will be available to help school horse and rider until a completed round is attained with a limit of 5 minutes.
